Director Xu Baohua originally worked in the General Surgery Department of Nanjing Military Region General Hospital, under the guidance of renowned general surgery expert Academician Li Jieshou in China. With over 20 years of clinical work and scientific research teaching, he has accumulated rich experience. The General Surgery Department of Nanjing Military Region General Hospital is a clinical college of five universities including the Military General Surgery Research Institute and Nanjing University. It is a national key department with dozens of doctoral and master's programs, as well as a postdoctoral mobile station. It is very helpful for me to develop my work ability and improve my research level.
Director Xu Baohua has been engaged in research and application of parenteral and enteral nutrition for a long time. From basic energy metabolism to nutrient solution prescription design, placement of vena cava catheters, and clinical application, especially in critically ill patients' nutritional support, proficient use of nutritional support, metabolic support, metabolic regulation, and immune nutritional support methods enables most patients to turn danger into safety. The earliest study in China on the proliferation status of colonic mucosa in patients receiving enteral and parenteral nutrition support provided clinical evidence for bacterial and endotoxin translocation in the intestine under parenteral nutrition. Early research has been conducted in China on the combination of growth hormone and somatostatin with nutritional support for rapid healing of intestinal fistulas. At the same time, the role of trace intravenous nutrients in protein metabolism has also been explored, and research results have been achieved.
Director Xu Baohua has accumulated rich clinical experience in treating severe abdominal infections. Especially for complex abdominal infections caused by intestinal fistulas, multiple surgeries and complex abdominal infection treatments have accumulated rich experience. In addition, he has rich clinical experience in the pathogenesis research and clinical treatment of severe acute pancreatitis, breast cancer, and comprehensive surgical treatment of thyroid tumors. These works have won the first prize of medical achievement of the whole PLA, the second prize of scientific and technological progress in Jiangsu Province and the third prize of hospital management in Jiangsu Province.
Engaged in clinical and emergency medicine work for more than 30 years, proficient in handling various urgent and critical illnesses in clinical practice. Proficient in the treatment of multiple organ failure, critical illness nutritional support, severe trauma emergency and recovery, severe infection treatment, severe pancreatitis monitoring and treatment, cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation, and comprehensive clinical treatment of various poisoning. We have accumulated rich experience in the treatment of severe infections, severe trauma, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, clinical nutritional support, organophosphate poisoning, paraquat poisoning, and other related conditions. Organized and participated in the handling of public health emergencies and large numbers of injured people multiple times. I have presided over and completed a provincial-level project and won the third prize once; Participated in one National Natural Science Foundation project, one military project, and one provincial fund project, and won one first prize for military medical achievements; Received the second prize for scientific and technological progress in Jiangsu Province once. Long term serving as a lecturer for graduate and undergraduate students at the Second Military Medical University of the People's Liberation Army, Nanjing University School of Medicine, Nanjing Medical University, and Southern Medical University, and has been awarded the title of Excellent Teacher multiple times. Published over 30 articles in the National Science and Technology Department's statistical source journals. Published 1 SCI monograph and participated in the compilation of 6 monographs.
