Taikang Tongji (Wuhan) Hospital is a high-quality, non-profit comprehensive hospital fully invested by Taikang Insurance Group, a Fortune 500 company, and managed in cooperation with Tongji Hospital affiliated with Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. It was built according to the third grade A standard. Taikang Tongji opened in February 2020. It is a designated hospital for Hubei Province's basic medical insurance for remote medical treatment, Wuhan City's basic medical (maternity) insurance and outpatient chronic and special diseases, as well as provincial level basic medical security and Hubei Province's designated hospital for commercial insurance. Taikang Tongji is located in Sixin Ecological New City, Hanyang District, Wuhan City, with a construction area of approximately 276000 square meters and a long-term planned capacity of over 1200 beds.

After the COVID-19 occurred in 2020, Taikang Insurance Group took the initiative to ask for war, supported by the military medical team in Hubei. The hospital was unveiled in the war of epidemic resistance on February 14, and won the highest honor of "National Advanced Collective in the Fight against COVID-19" jointly awarded by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission.
