Chief physician and professor, Department of Cardiology, Gulou Hospital affiliated to Nanjing University School of Medicine. In 1982, he graduated from the medical department with a bachelor's degree in medicine, and from 1986 to 1989, he studied for a master's degree in heart research institute of Tongji Medical University with a master's degree in medicine. From 1991 to 1993, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of Cardiology, UKE Hospital, University of Hamburg, Germany. He has long been engaged in medical teaching and research of cardiovascular diseases. He was the deputy director of the National Pharmacology Base of Cardiology in Nanjing Gulou Hospital, the deputy director of the Cardiovascular Committee of Jiangsu Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, the director of Jiangsu Hypertension Alliance and the editorial board of molecular cardiology of china. The research on hypertension won the third prize of Nanjing Science and Technology Progress Award. Deputy to the second consecutive Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress. He has a deep knowledge of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, arrhythmia and heart failure.
