At present, the infectious diseases Department of Taikang Xianlin Drum Tower Hospital affiliated to Nanjing University School of Medicine has fever clinics and intestinal clinics, which mainly screen, treat and refer respiratory and intestinal infectious diseases. At the same time, the department undertakes the consultation task of the whole hospital for infectious diseases, guides the use of antibiotics in various clinical departments, especially provides special guidance for the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and severe infections, multi drug resistant bacterial infections, and fever to be investigated, and ensures that every hospitalized infected patient receives professional clinical services. In addition, the department is also responsible for the review and reporting of infectious diseases throughout the hospital, data analysis, and handling of public health incidents, and implementing and completing various infectious disease prevention and control tasks assigned by the disease control department. In the later stage, depending on the number of patients, additional hepatitis clinics will be established to provide antiviral treatment and physical examination services for viral hepatitis.
