EICU is an important component unit of the emergency medicine department, with 18 monitoring beds and equipped with advanced critical care equipment and intelligent medical information systems required for monitoring, treatment, nursing, and rehabilitation, including high flow oxygen therapy equipment, non-invasive and invasive ventilators, blood purification equipment, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, critical ultrasound equipment, extracorporeal life support ECMO, critical rehabilitation equipment, fiberoptic bronchoscope, cerebral oxygen metabolism monitoring device, etc.
EICU has implemented shock monitoring and treatment strategies that combine large circulation microcirculation, long-term mechanical ventilation and weaning strategies, cool treatment strategies for severe traumatic brain injury, early severe rehabilitation strategies, protective lung ventilation strategies, severe multi-point hemodynamic analysis plans, multi-modal cerebral perfusion metabolic monitoring plans, respiratory and circulatory support technology under severe ultrasound guidance, in vitro life support technology, nutritional therapy technology, etc.

Dr. Xie Zhiyi, the leader of the discipline, graduated from Peking Union Medical College with a Ph.D., chief physician, and former doctoral supervisor at Tsinghua University. Based on advanced critical care medical equipment, leading critical care technologies and concepts, we will build a proactive and first-class critical care team through standardized teaching and training, and conduct clinical practical research, providing better medical services for more critically ill patients.
