The Orthopedics Department of Taikang Xianlin Gulou Hospital is a key medical specialty in Nanjing. At present, there are 49 beds and 13 doctors (10 master's degree holders and 1 doctoral degree holder), including 6 with senior professional titles and 6 with intermediate professional titles. Establish sub specialties such as spine, joint (including sports medicine), and hand and foot. The department routinely carries out high difficulty surgeries such as hip and knee replacement, degenerative diseases of the neck and lumbar spine, as well as minimally invasive surgeries such as vertebral body shaping, canal treatment for lumbar disc herniation, and arthroscopic treatment for ligament and meniscus injuries. It is skilled in performing complex limb fracture surgeries and has added new technologies and projects such as minimally invasive intervertebral foramen endoscopy and shoulder arthroscopy, which have met the technical standards of orthopedic departments in tertiary hospitals and key specialties in Nanjing. Orthopedics will comprehensively enhance the level of integrated development of medical teaching and research, strive to build high-level trauma centers, joint centers (including sports medicine), and spine centers in this region, and strive to become a provincial key specialty.
